Saint Joseph Schools offer a rigorous academic curriculum with an emphasis on moral values and community service- a combination that lays a solid foundation for success in life.  The majority of Saint Joseph elementary students (95%) go on to attend Saint Joseph Catholic High School, which has been ranked by the The Washington Post as one of “the top most challenging schools in the nation.” By the time our students reach high school, on average they will score in the top five percent on nationally recognized tests. Our average ACT scores are higher than our state and national averages. We continue to gain scholarship dollars for our graduates to the tune of $19 million over the last two years with ninety graduates.  Our students qualify to attend some of the most prestigious universities in the nation including, Harvard, Notre Dame, University of Chicago, and Stanford.   In short, our students enter Saint Joseph Elementary School as capable learners and graduate from Saint Joseph High school as courageous leaders.

Our highly educated teachers are passionate about helping each student realize his or her potential. With our small class sizes, individual attention is given to ensure success. Our students feel that they are more than a number in the classroom, they are treated as individuals to be respected, nurtured and challenged. Our small but mighty school also finds successes in many of our extracurricular activities despite having a “no cut” policy. Our “no-cut” policy means that all students may participate in athletics, music, theater and any other extracurricular activities. We are building self-esteem, developing their individual talents and teaching the importance of teamwork.

Saint Joseph Catholic Schools have always strived for academic excellence. Our students have received numerous awards and ranked very high on placement tests and our teachers challenge our students to reach their highest potential. But we also teach something else we find just as important, service to others and giving back to our community. Saint Joseph Catholic Schools has had the privilege to partner with Catholic Community Services of Northern Utah, Youth Impact, Habitat for Humanity and others. This gives our students hands on experiences giving back and realizing their ability to make a positive difference in our community today and in the future.

We currently serve approximately 600 students of many different religious backgrounds, income levels and ethnicities. Approximately 40% of our students are minorities and many of those students are English as a second language learners.  Saint Joseph Catholic Schools is an investment in a child’s growth and in his or her academic future. Each child who enters our doors is unique and they all have different gifts. Decidedly, children are the most important part of our lives and parents want the best for their children. Because it has always been a priority, we reach out to all economic levels, working with families in our community as a commitment to ensure that any child who wants to attend our school is given that opportunity.  It is for this reason, that over half of our students, kindergarten through twelfth grade, receive some type of tuition assistance.

“Community” is more than just a word in the Saint Joseph mission; as a Catholic school, it is the foundation of what we strive to do every day in the classroom, in the halls, on the playground, on the court or field, and on the stage. It is also a genuine attribute that is expressed when students, alumni and families describe their experiences with Saint Joseph Catholic Schools. It is what makes our school more than just a vague memory for many. The desire to belong is innate – that’s never been more true than for our youth. We are blessed to be able to provide a family-like community for all of our students throughout their time at Saint Joseph Catholic Schools. We are grateful for the life that our students and families give our community. Community is for life and community is life-giving. It’s time to learn how your family can become a part of ours.
